Prophecies

Some prophesies are fulfilled, some are being revealed, some not known until Jesus returns

*Surely the Lord God does nothing, Unless He reveals His secret to His servants the prophets. Amos 3:7 NKJV+

All the mysteries our Heavenly Father would have us know have been announced through the prophets, the apostles, and other believers, as the Holy Spirit moved them. These prophecies are all written in His Word, though many are written so they will not be understood until the proper time. These prophecies will be continually revealed to us, though we may never be able to comprehend all of them.

*He changes times and seasons; he sets up kings and deposes them. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerningHe reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him. Da 2:21-22 NIV+

*Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of

the mystery kept secret since the world began but now has been made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures has been made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith—Ro 16:25-26 NKJV+

We never will have all the answers to our Father’s plan for the end of the world, not until the time He will reveal them to us. Not until the seventh angel of Apostle John’s vision in Revelation comes have we been promised to know. Many answers are hidden in apocalyptic, symbolic terms. Some have been sealed off by the Father until the appropriate time.

*But in the days when the seventh angel is about to sound his trumpet, the mystery of God will be accomplished, just as he announced to his servants the prophets."  Rev 10:7 NIV+

*And when the seven thunders uttered their voices, I was about to write: and I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up the things which the seven thunders uttered, and write them not. Rev 10:4 ASV

Yet we will be given sufficient knowledge of what will happen, as the Spirit continually reveals more to us at the proper time. We will receive blessings as we read and study Revelation, as it helps us to prepare spiritually and physically for the trials we will face on earth, whether we will be alive at Christ’s return or not. Always using the context of the entire Bible, as well as the different versions of the Word (NIV, NASB, NKJV, KJV, ASV with footnotes) to confirm and put in perspective all prophecies written in the Word. See Disciplines

*"But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase."  Dan 12:4 NKJV+

*Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. Rev 1:3 NKJV+

And though we may not be able to understand everything about prophecies, the Father put them there for a reason, would have us read and study them.

*"There will be signs in sun and moon and stars, and on the earth dismay among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves, men fainting from fear and the expectation of the things which are coming upon the world ; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. "Then they will see The Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory."But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near." Lk 21:25-28 NASB+

We should not have contempt for the prophecies of the Word, and always test to make sure they are being interpreted correctly. We must accept the new revelations the Spirit continually gives us through the Word. And give up man made ideas and doctrines, even those held for a long time, if from God’s Word they are now proven to be incorrect.

*Do not put out the Spirit's fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil. 1Th 5:19-22 NIV+

*Now to him who is able to establish you by my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey him— Ro 16:25-26 NIV+

No prophecy in the Word is written by human wisdom, nor by the will of mankind. The Spirit inspired, guided, holy men of God to write the truth of the Father’s great plan of salvation for us. All in Scripture will happen, all will be accomplished, until heaven and earth are destroyed. Until the time our God establishes His eternal new Heaven and Earth.

*And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit.  2Pe 1:19-21 NKJV+

*"Do not think that I came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I did not come to abolish but to fulfill. "For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until all is accomplished. Matt 5:17-18 NASB+

God’s prophecies in the Word will keep revealing more and more as they are all fulfilled. While all the many prophesies of man will soon disappear, will wither, fall away, and be no more.

*The elders who are among you I exhort, I who am a fellow elder and a witness of the sufferings of Christ, and also a partaker of the glory that will be revealed: 1Pe 5:1 NKJV+

*For, "All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, but the word of the Lord stands forever." And this is the word that was preached to you. 1Pe 1:24-25 NIV+

We should fix our eyes on Jesus, loving and obeying Him as we live our daily lives, waiting for His return. We should also let the Spirit rule our hearts, help us understand and live in the Word of God. Through the Word, its prophecies, we have all the spiritual truths our Father would have us know, as they are continually revealed to us, until Jesus returns.

*fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Heb 2:12 NASB+

*while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2Co 4:18 NASB+

We should always be absolutely positive that Jesus is returning for us. And though we may not be able to understand everything written in the prophecies, we will be given sufficient knowledge in the Word to be ready for His coming.

*For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; Col 1:9 NKJV+

*And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, Phil 1:9-10 NKJV+

We will not know the exact day Jesus will return, we will just be able to recognize when the time is near, right at the door.

*"But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. Mk 13:32 NKJV+

*"Now learn the parable from the fig tree: when its branch has already become tender and puts forth its leaves, you know that summer is near. "Even so, you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that He is near, right at the door. Mk 13:28-29 NASB+

Our Heavenly Father gave us over 2,000 prophecies about the final days in His Holy Word. His Word is alive, is active, and the Spirit continually reveals new truths to us through it. The Word shows us that the time for Jesus returns is growing near, as more and more prophesies are being fulfilled.

*having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth--in Him.  Eph 1:9-10 NKJV+

*that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,  Eph 1:17-18 NKJV+

We must trust, and then correctly use the prophecies our Heavenly Father has given us about when and how Jesus will return for us. We must not be so impatient that we twist the context of God’s Word to fit our times, our theories. Yet we should be willing to accept new revelations of prophesies which have been proven true.

*Where is the wise man? Where is the scholar? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?  1Co 1:20 NIV+

*And He said to them, "O foolish men and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!  Lk 24:25 NASB+

Until our Savior returns for us and we will be given eternal glorified bodies. As all things in Heaven and earth are brought under the control of our Savior, who we will be with forever.

*Behold, I tell you a mystery; we will not all sleep, but we will all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality. 1Co 15:51-53 NASB+

*And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment--to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. Eph 1:9 NIV+

Prophecies:

God truths are revealed to those who humbly love their Lord, who let the Spirit guide them in the Word. We can see prophesies that have been fulfilled, other prophesies begin to happen. As the time Jesus will return continually draws closer.

*but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all nations might believe and obey himRo 16:26 NIV+

*Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. Rev 1:3 NKJV+

Give us peace and comfort. Jesus loves us, has given us every spiritual gift we will ever need to be prepared for His return. When Jesus returns He will bring us to a mansion in Heaven, which He has prepared for us.

*so that you are not lacking in any gift, awaiting eagerly the revelation of our Lord Jesus Christ, 1Co 1:7 NASB+

*In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. Jn 14:2-3 NKJV+

Wake us up! No one knows when our last day will come. We must be prepared to meet Jesus, before it is too late, before we die, or before Jesus comes again. We cannot have two masters, we either love our God above all things, or we love the pleasures of this world more than our God. We will spend all eternity either in Heaven or Hell.

*Remember therefore how you have received and heard; hold fast and repent. Therefore if you will not watch, I will come upon you as a thief, and you will not know what hour I will come upon you. Rev 3:3 NKJV+

*But because of your stubbornness and unrepentant heart you are storing up wrath for yourself in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God, Ro 2:5 NASB+

Prepare us for what will happen. We must be prepared for many false prophets, false teachings, many trials and troubles which will come before Christ returns. We must be prepared for the last antichrist who will do miraculous signs, and be able to fool many. We must accept our God now, for all who do not accept His truths will be given a delusion, making them believe in the antichrist.

*The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, 2 The 2:6-11 NKJV+

*But rejoice that you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. 1Pe 4:13 NIV+

Show us we are responsible for our own actions, our own life, what is going on around us. We must let the Spirit guide us in the truth of the Word, including prophesies, so we can love and follow our Savior.

*But He answered and said, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'" Matt 4:4 NKJV+

*For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. Heb 4:12 NASB+

Give us spiritual blessings, strengthening our faith, as we read and study God’s Word. Prophesies make a vivid picture of the truth the Lord would have us see. The glory one will attain, or the devastation one will encounter when Christ returns.

*Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. Rev 1:3 NKJV+

*being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. Col 1:11-12 NIV+

The Spirit through the Word will continually reveal more truths to us at the appropriate time.

Human intelligence, political correctness, ideals of the elite, or following your own ethnic beliefs will not help you understand the Word. It only makes one change the Word to reflect their own values, their own prejudices. Our human minds can only understand physical concepts, they are neither able to comprehend nor find the spiritual truths of God’s Word.

*For this reason also, since the day we heard of it, we have not ceased to pray for you and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so that you will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, to please Him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; Col 1:9-10 NASB+

*The man without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, and he cannot understand them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1Co 2:14 NIV+

God’s Word contains all the truths our Father would have us know, from the beginning to the end of this world. Yet some of these truths are hidden from us until the time the Father wants these truths revealed to us.

*Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is none like me. I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please. Isa 46:9-10 NIV+

*And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him. Da 2:21-22 NKJV+

The Spirit continually reveals spiritual truths, how they will be physically implemented here on earth. At the appropriate time, when we need to know them. He opens our eyes, our hearts, and our minds to understand more fully the truths, the mysteries that are present in the Word.

*In reading this, then, you will be able to understand my insight into the mystery of Christ, which was not made known to men in other generations as it has now been revealed by the Spirit to God's holy apostles and prophets. Eph 3:4-5 NIV+

*who by the power of God are guarded through faith unto a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. 1Pe 1: 5 ASV
