God’s Plan Of Creation
God
was not created, God has always been and will be
forever. God is a spirit, He is eternal. God created everything in the heavens
and on earth. God created all spiritual beings in His image, holy eternal spirits with a free will, a right to
chose whether they obeyed God or not. God created different spiritual beings to
help Him manage His creation including cherubim and angels, which are in His
heavenly council. Angels are more prevalent in the Scriptures for they
help, minister, and are messengers to us. Angels do not reproduce by
themselves, but are created beings. Angels can come disguised in human bodies
and do physical things. Angels are numerous, and mentioned as ten thousand
times ten thousand. They are organized (can be made up of legions), with
differing powers (their leaders are archangels), with differing authorities
(such as protecting
Then
sin, disobedience, was brought into God's
Through
Satan sin had entered God's spiritual world, sin had
entered the earthly world, and sin was now in man and woman. Since mankind was
no longer holy we could not be in the presence of God. Our spirit being was
eternal and would be cast in hell forever. Our bodies, which had not been made
eternal, would die forever. But God loved us so much that He implemented a plan
to make us holy once more, so we could live eternally with Him once more. God
made the Old Covenant ceremonial laws to save those who loved Him until the
Messiah, the Savior, would come to redeem all of our Heavenly Father’s true
children. The New Covenant of grace began when God’s son Jesus Christ
became man and lived a sinless life. The New Covenant was completed when Christ
died on the cross for our sins, in place of us, to atone for all of our sins,
to make all believers holy once more. The New Covenant was proven to be true
when Jesus arose from the dead and ascended to Heaven, as will all believers
when Jesus returns for us. The Old Covenant ceremonial laws are now over, the
future is in the New Covenant through the love and grace of Jesus Christ
alone. Christ’s grace will freely forgive the sins of all who truly love and
follow Him. But once Christ comes into your heart, your life, you will not be the
same person. The love you have for your Savior will make you want to do His
will, obey His commands. In return you will not receive worldly fame or
treasure, but spiritual peace and joy in this world and eternal life in Heaven
above. Only through the grace of Jesus Christ that washes away our sins will
anyone ever be able to eat from the tree of life again, enabling our physical
bodies to be perfect and eternal once more.
The
Scriptures tell us a little of how God created His universe, with many questions
that will only be answered when we are with our Lord in Heaven above. But we
are clearly told in God’s word why he created us. God is all knowing,
nothing happens that is not His will. God knew before creation the
problems that would be created by giving spiritual beings a free
will, by giving mankind a free will. God hates evil,
God did not create sin, and never wanted sin ever to enter His universe.
But out of love to have children, children
our Heavenly Father could call His own, God implemented His
plan of creation for the world. Women come close to dying when they have
children, sometimes they do die. Yet this threat does not stop them from
the love and desire to have children. God knew before creation what would
be needed to complete His master plan, a plan that would allow
His children to live with Him in
God is love. God wants us to love Him back. We cannot force God to love us, we have no power, or way of making our Lord love us. God loves us because He is love, because He has chosen to love us. Likewise our Creator wants us to attempt to love Him in the same way He loves us. Love is an emotion that has to be given, it is the giver's choice whether to give love or not. That is why God gave us a free spirit, so we could make the choice to love Him, to follow Him. God will discipline His children, and put obstacles in our way to test and strengthen our faith. God hates evil and does not tempt us with it. But our Heavenly Father allows Satan to tempt us, as well as our own flesh and the world. The temptations will show whom we really love, to whom we turn to for help and forgiveness when we sin. Our love for our Savior will be strengthened when we trust His love to save us. But our love for our Lord will be shown to be weak or none existent when we make the free choice to follow Satan, our own human sinful desires. Even Jesus was tempted as we are, without sinning, so He knows what we are up against, knows how to help us, shows His majesty by not giving in to temptation. Jesus' own disciples were tempted by the Devil, Judas succumbing, Peter failing but finding grace, and succeeding by faith to follow his Master, even to the cross. God will allow Satan to tempt us, to strengthen believers as they are forgiven, or to separate those who really have not given their lives to Christ, that do not really love their Savior. We will face temptations until Jesus comes to take us home when we die. or when Jesus returns for us on that great day. The best way I can explain why God allows us to face tests and temptations throughout our lives is through the story of "Struggling" from my website abidewithchrist.org – short stories.
When our problems
seem overwhelming as we struggle through our daily life one might consider the
lesson of the simple butterfly. The butterfly starts out as a lonely
caterpillar crawling around on its belly to find food. Soon the caterpillar
makes a cocoon, transforming into a liquid that eventually will make a body.
This body must work hard and long to break out of the cocoon to become a
beautiful butterfly. One day a man saw a cocoon on the side of the tree. The
body inside the cocoon was struggling to get out with little success. The man
being tender hearted decided to help the poor butterfly trapped inside the
cocoon. He took out his knife and split the cocoon so the butterfly could fly
out. But to his amazement the winged body just fell to the ground, tried to
move its wings a few times and lay there. Without working and struggling to get
out of the cocoon the butterfly had not developed enough strength in its wings
to fly. So it is with Christians here on earth. The Lord lets us endure trials
to strengthen our faith, to teach us to trust the Lord even when there seems to
be no solution for our troubles. Each time we struggle through our problems we
gain strength by learning that Jesus is the answer to all our needs. Until we
finally have the strength to know that no matter what happens we will live for
Christ, completely confident that His love will always take care of us. Just
like the butterfly we have come a long way through faith. From an ugly sinful
being caught up in all the temptations Satan and this world throw at us, to a
beautiful butterfly soaring high to extol the love of Jesus Christ to all. The
faith we have obtained in persevering over worldly trials and temptations has
given us the strength to follow our Master wherever He leads us. Doing whatever
He would have us do, radiating the glory of His
eternal grace until our work here on earth is done. Then the Lord will say
“Well done,” and tenderly bring us to His glorious kingdom in Heaven
above.
God is fair and
just, God will not tempt us beyond what we are capable of handling. And when we
fall, for Satan knows our weaknesses, Jesus will forgive our sins as long
as we love him above all things and are striving with all of our hearts to do
His will and follow His commands. The Holy Spirit is whispering to our hearts,
asking us to let Jesus in, enabling us to grow in faith and love to our
Savior. Will we listen or follow the evil desires and pleasures of Satan? Our
own free will gives us the choice, will lead us to
Heaven or Hell.
*More about
angels:
We are not to
worship the angels (
We will judge
angels (1Co 6:3)
The elect will get
eternal life (1Tim 5:21)
Angels who do not
preach the truth of God’s Word will be eternally condemned (Gal 1:8)
*More about
Satan or the Devil the same spiritual being:
Satan means accuser/slanderer in Hebrew - Devil means accuser/slanderer in Greek
Satan has many names including the following:
Beelzebub - Greek name for Hebrew name Baal-Zebub, a mockery of Baal-Zebul (exalted Baal or Prince Baal, Lord of the flies, 2Ki 1:2) which came to mean Satan (Matt 10:25)
Belial - meaning wicked or scoundrel (2Co 6:15)
Evil One - describes Satan perfectly (1Jn 2:13)
Great Dragon - that ancient serpent, Satan's apocalyptic name (Rev 12:9)
Lucifer - morning star in Hebrew, could be in reference to Satan's fall from Heaven or tied to the King of Babylon (Isa 14:12)
Prince of this world - Angels good or bad were often given the titles of Princes (Jn 12:31)
The ruler of kingdom of air - spirit who controls the disobedient (Eph 2;2)
Tempter - tempted Jesus as well as us (Matt 4:3)
*Satan:
Satan has power to do miracles, signs, wonders, and every sort of evil (2Thes 2:9)
Steals the message of Christ from hearts who do not understand it (Matt 13:19)
Masquerades as an angel of light, His servants as servants of righteousness (2Co 11:13+14)
Roams through the earth, going back and forth in it (Job 1:7)
For our struggle is not physical but against rulers, authorities, and powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of the heavenly realm. (Eph 6:11+12)
Uses even Scripture to tempt us and tempts all, even Jesus (Matt 4:3,8-9)
Roams like a lion seeking whom he may devour (1Pe 5:8)
Satan's angels also known as demons or evil spirits roam arid spaces not liking it and come back to the person they have left bringing along friends so the man is worse than before (Luk 11:24)
*What will
happen to Satan, his demons and evil spirits:
All we have been told is Satan, demons and evil spirits are allowed to roam with the exception of those who are bound up in dungeons or chains in Hell (Abyss). (1Pe 2:4, Jude 1:6)
Satan and
all his angels will be judged on the last day and cast into the eternal
fire (Matt 25:41)
*We can
defeat Satan by:
Truth, righteousness, readiness, faith, salvation, Word of God, and prayers (Eph 6:13-18)
Quoting scripture (Matt 4:4+10)
Christ has come to destroy the work of Satan so in Christ and through Christ we can overcome Satan (1Jn 3:8)
Jesus has power over demons. The evil spirits know Him (Luk 8:30-32). He gave disciples the power to cast them out in His name ( Luk 10:17)
***But most important of
all when our hearts are in Christ there is no room for Satan, demons
or evil spirits to come into our lives. With Christ in our hearts we will
be able to stand up to any temptation, test, or problem that comes our way. Not
because we are great but because Christ is great. And when we falter we will
gladly repent and allow the grace of Christ to forgive
us. Our Savior will always be there to help us, to pick us
up, to bring us back to the fold, to keep us in His Holy Church as long
as He is number one in our hearts. With Christ in our hearts nothing can
overcome us, nothing can separate us from our awesome
God.
"Nay, in all these
things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us. For I am
persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities,
nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor
any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is
in Christ Jesus our Lord." Ro 8:37+39 KJV
